- Delhi Chapter get-together for new entrants
| 21 Jul 2007, Delhi |
The Delhi Chapter organized an interaction session with the students joining IIT Kanpur on July 21st 2007. The idea of this new initiative was to give these youngsters a feel for the IITK culture as seen by alumni. 13 students joined the session along with their parents. Over 100 alumni and their family members were also present.
All the students were requested to introduce themselves. Many people from earlier batches shared their perceptions and experiences as seen after decades of passing out from IITK. Expressions of seniors were in many hues and included advice on the competitiveness at the campus, fun and frolics when at IIT, opportunities available in India and elsewhere, what the country expects vibrant campus, excellent facilities and the friendliness of the faculty.
The general message was to enjoy while studying but not lose the focus. All participants, especially the parents of the freshers were very happy and thanked the Delhi Chapter for the initiative. The session was followed by dinner. |

We will plan to hit Lonavala before 12 noon on September 15 and plan to fly back the same night so as to be with the family on Sunday. Alternatively, some of us may plan to stay back overnight and drive back the next morning.
