I hope most of you are taking advantage of the early bird discount on the following event:

As in previous years, we will also be recognizing the 2008 IIT/K West Coast Alumni Leadership Award winners at the Dinner Event.
Some of you have already sent in your nominations. We would like to see lot more of these.
Please take a moment and nominate IIT/K alums residing on the West Coast (including California, Oregon and Washington), according to the following guidelines. We would like to receive as many nominations as possible. Please respond by April 6, 2008.
Any IIT Kanpur alumni residing on the West Coast of the United States is eligible, except those that have already received the IIT/K Distinguished Alumnus Award or the IIT/K West Coast Alumni Leadership Award.
The nominee must have demonstrated leadership in one or more of the following areas: entrepreneurial success, technology innovation, corporate business achievement, academic excellence, and community service. This year we will have a special award for younger alumni who have graduated in the last ten years (1998-2007)
Self nominations will be accepted and you can submit as many nominations as you wish.
The selection committee consisting of former award winners and Distinguished Alumni, will select the award winners. All decisions of the selection committee will be final. We will communicate the names of the award winners by April 20, 2008.

Dear Friends,
One of the expectations from the 2007 meet at Lonavala was to carry the tradition further - its fun to be with friends.
So we are proposing the 2nd meet for the IITK 1990 pass out batch at Delhi for two nights on October 4 and October 5, 2008. We propose to reach Delhi on October 4nd morning and leave on October 6
. October weather in Delhi is pleasant
Delhi is well connected from all directions
Delhi will be able to attract many of the friend working with Indian government who were unable to join us during the last meet
2. Why two nights?
More fun
More time for interaction, so that people who want to break into smaller groups for intense discussion on the topic of there choice, also get time for it. Very often I have come across friends who have done a lot of what they started with in early years of life, and are at a stage where they are thinking again to re-invent and rediscover the charm, innocence and freshness of starting it all over again. It is energizing to listen to such conversation. More time will help in facilitating more of such interactions with friends who are visiting the drawing board again
3. Why 2008?
We are hopeful that two consecutive years of interaction will possibly help in making it a regular annual event

To continue the celebration of togetherness, we expect larger participation of batch-mates this time. At Lonavala, in 2007, 34 of us finally got-together but we expect the number to cross 50 this time.
We need to ensure that reach out to as many of us and ensure that we drive together, fly together just to ensure that none of us drop out of large minute lethargy – kaun jaye yaar syndrome!!

The 30th Year Reunion of Class-of-78(i.e. those who graduated with B. Tech / Integrated M. Sc. / 2Yr- M. Sc. / M. Tech. / DIIT / M. PHIL. / MEM / Ph. D. degree in 1978) has been scheduled to be held during 3-4 Jan 2008. I request you to block these dates for attending this event.
